glockstah logo

Welcome to glockstah replay shoutcast-- inaugural edition! Through these gameplay clips, with a mix color commentary and in-depth analysis, we'll go through a recent matchup and check out some exciting moments to see what was what.

This purpose of this is to examine the key points of a past game and what happened and why-- to learn, to improve, and to enjoy some high-quality DotA. These clips contain a brief breakdown the strategies of hero picks, lanes + ganks, and teamfights that make-or-break games.

Today we will be looking at SECS 1.5 action-- a first-round matchup between consistent performers I Play Strength, versus the latest incarnation of the EDGE machine.

Part Four: Finale

So there you have it-- a video breakdown of SECS 1.5 IPS vs EDGE.
Hopefully you enjoyed the videos and learned a thing or two, so we'll wrap up with a few key points that gave EDGE the "edge" (hahahahehehehlololol) over I Play Strength.

EDGE (again, no one is perfect, I'm just highlighting some of their best aspects)
  • Very strong lineup--  /  /  difficult to kill,  aura goes well with these low-mana-high-cost heroes.
  • Excellent execution-- initiation by  + ; Primal Split used to bypass Sentinel casters.
  • Map control-- solid warding by  with firstblood money,  consistently ganked Sentinel supports instead of ricing, thus weakening Sentinel map control.
  • Tri-lane pressure--  /  /  kept the Sentinel occupied and allowed  +  to farm.
I Play Strength (still played quite well, here I'm just highlighting some of the things that led to their defeat)
  • Squishy lineup--  /  /  died quickly in many fights, leaving Sentinel short-handed.
  • Lack of top-tier carry/carries--  tops out after mid-game, and  is solid, but can't compete with both  +  (Static Link ownage).
  • Execution mistakes-- not enough Nether Ward use by , not enough ganks by  +  on Scourge hard carries.

That's all for this week. Thanks for tuning in and we'll catch you next time!

SUP TEAM EDGE COMMENTS YESSS lol

Wait, did I say "skoorge" or "skurj" ?

I think I actually randomly alternate between pronunciations, actually...

So yeah, any constructive comments/advice on the piece itself?

Yeah, I have advice:

1. More .... entertaining? I don't know, it seems kind of bland, to put it bluntly. I know it's not meant to be funny or super fun, but rather informative. That being said, I found myself wanting to quit watching it because it just wasn't grabbing my attention. You should bring up the energy level in your analysis, or get someone to co-"shoutcast" it with you.

2. Maybe have a "key moments" section. I wanted to SEE the firstblood, see any impressive kills, etc. This would also add to the overall entertainment value.

3. Consider changing the lane phase. First of all, a lot of action goes on before 10 minutes... and it is possibly some of the most important action in the entire game. Please show how each lane matches up against each other early, what heroes can go gank, who's outcs'ing who and why, etc.

Other than that, good job, but you can definitely make it a lot better.

1. Roger that, I hear ya. So would you prefer a more "highlight reel" approach?
2. Well, in this game fb came before creeps even spawned in the jungle. VS got triple stunned by Scourge and died. Then people went their separate ways. But I guess I see where you're coming from. I tried to show some impressive kills, would you prefer more/longer video clips if it meant more exciting kills?
3. Hmmm, well I definitely tried to talk about lane matchups, heroes ganking and cs'ing, but I guess I could put more emphasis on it.

Thanks for your advice. I'm hoping this Sunday the winning team submits their replay so I can do one on that game, rather than a first round matchup, although I felt this was still a pretty good game.

also agreed.. most people said that u sounded like u were watching ants reproduce

make the laning stage longer or place more emphasis on it, thats the biggest chunk of the game right there. after that, key teamfights was good

hey, i'd love to verbally dicksuck all of you sexy edge guys, but i do have other commitments you know.

and yes, i'll definitely try to up the excitement next time! (and longer lane phase)

BUT HEY-- DON'T KNOCK ANT PORN! Many normal people enjoy some good carapace-on-car apace action.
