The Sunday Evening Cup Series returns with a much needed overhaul. SECS has been the premier amateur tournament series for North and South American DotA for the past four years. In true American fashion, let's go for four more.

NADotA does not officially endorse any political party, candidate, or beliefs (except Liquid, ixmike88, and facial hair).
About SECS
The Sunday Evening Cup Series is the longest running DotA tournament series to date. The goal of SECS is to provide a scheduled competitive practice opportunity for all North and South American teams who wish to participate. Known as the breeding grounds for competitive teams, SECS once cultivated teams such as compLexity (FIRE), Absolute Legends (N9), It's Gosu, paiN Gaming, Fnatic.NA (JT), and many more.

This week SECS returns to its roots with a new format and platform that will provide easier access to this historic competition.
- SECS will continue being held every Sunday at 5pm EST. The new format will be a standard single-elimination bracket, with all best-of-1 matches. Teams who are eliminated are encouraged to stay in chat to find scrims.
- We will now use the NADotA Steam group chat for communication instead of IRC. Click "Enter chat room" from your browser or in the steam client.
- The tournament is now hosted on Battlefy. Please review the tournament rules, as there have been a few minor changes. Team captains can register on Battlefy and enter their roster in less than a minute.
- There are no more seasons or points -- every week is a fresh start, and every week will have a different prize. The prizes may include tournament tickets, hardware, Dota 2 items, and sometimes nothing at all. Small prize donations are very welcome. This week's prize is 5x RaidCall EMS One Spring 2013 tickets.
Pro Endorsement
A few words from our local pros on the tradition of SECS...
Sunday Evening Cup Series is a great event for those mid-tier skilled teams (even low) that's just trying to find new opponents to train with and have some bragging rights. A place where you can start building your name and building a reputation for future possible sponsorships. This is all ideal for anyone that's trying to get serious with Dota or even just wanting to have some fun. - Jimmy "DeMoN" Ho, Evil Geniuses
SECS and other open tournaments are a great starting ground for new teams, and SECS specifically offers a weekly tournament for players to gain experience. It helped me get into the world of competitive Dota 2! - Robert "Bdiz" Tinnes, Evil Geniuses
I'm pretty excited to see the return of SECS. A lot of North American teams and top players have come from this tournament and community. It's a great way to get experience and put yourself into competitive Dota. - Ioannis "Fogged" Loucas, Team Dignitas
There are so many up and coming teams and players that have made their mark or gained valuable experience through the Sunday Evening Cup Series. NADotA has one of the highest if not the highest concentration of talent of any community site out there and SECS is a great way to get involved and test your team. People always ask how to get involved in the competitive scene and as a player, there are few better ways than through open series like SECS. - Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling, Team Dignitas
SECS is a great place for North Americans to compete and gauge their abilities against each other. It's both a fun, casual, experience as well as a proving grounds for up-and-coming teams. - Brian "FLUFFNSTUFF" Lee, Team Liquid
It's very hard for new and upcoming players to grow outside of what they already have. The competitive scene is relatively exclusive and hard to break into, but small tournaments for pride such as SECS help newer teams play for more than just pride. - Braxton "Brax" Paulson, LGD GamingGo to Battlefy for more information, rules, prizes, and registration
