think thats on you, the anime is pretty faithful and the shit they added on only adds to the experience
they also heavily took parts in later chapters (that are flashbacks) and just put it in...

marathoned the manga its actually not as retarded as i thought it would be, quite enjoyed it (although some parts still make no sense because they havent gotten around to explain it i guess?)
