New to NADota, looking to join your inhouse league.

Hello, my name is RJ and I would like to join your inhouse league. I have played Dota 1 and Dota 2 for around 5 to 6 years now. My roommate taught me the basics of each Dota 1 hero my freshman year in college. I also learned through one of my friends and your moderators IntelInsane (he was in my freshman dorm hall), but back then I was terrible at the game and just learning. I also learned the game through various Dota 1 inhouse leagues: syn, dotacash, dxd, etc.

I am starting to grow bored of playing in pub MM games, where opponents are too predictable (either they aren't trying or they don't fully understand the game) and allies don't know the meaning of teamwork (no tp scrolls or wards). My winrate on my WizardJuice account is around ~62% (almost every game is solo que).

I can play any role my team needs me to play, although my favorite role is roamer/ganker. Hard support is my 2nd favorite role (I understand the importance of vision in a game that has fog of war to hide enemy movement). Hard carry is my least favorite role because the early game is boring to me (static farming).

This (Wizardjuice) account has mostly Leshrac games, but in Dota 1 I played every hero at least 10 times, so I have a feel and knowledge for almost every hero's spells' cooldown timers, mana costs, ranges, damage dealt, damage type, etc.

I look forward to playing against other people with the same passion I have in strategic/tactical games like Dota 2. I also look forward to stomping pubstar IntelInsane for trashtalking me in college while I was still learning the game (just kidding I love you Nate).

I hope to be a positive contributing factor in this community and to learn as much as I can about the game of Dota 2 while I am in your caring hands.

Edit1: I just read through that thread, many people are claiming that the thread is dead and the only way to get a vouch is by messaging an admin. Can an admin confirm this as true? I would rather get accepted into the league through a well-known admin than someone who is selling vouches in the Dota 2 blackmarket, though I'm not against that if it's the only way in atm.

1. be well-known yourself and msg an admin for vouch
2. give boxes to changeofpace
3. be from brazil

i've obsed a bit of c9 games and these doods are good and they won't just vouch anyone, even with a TL;DR op.

I didn't notice this when I read your post earlier but surely you jest?

Also, I don't mean to be mean but speech implying positive implications is considered autistic around masochistic and self-derisive communities such as the DotA community in general and NADotA has true DotA veterans. Unless you are absolutely positive that you are fine with any possible consequences, you wouldn't want to get involved further.

I suppose the league itself is tailor-made for people like you if the other thread about it is any evidence though.

I don't claim to be the best player in MM to the people stating that I am very egotistical. If I ever said those words it is because I was joking (I apologize for the terrible sense of humor).

Anyway, to Password, it was not meant to be a jest-- I have played each hero at least 10 times, meaning some heroes I played over 10, others 50, others 100, and others 1000+. I am fine with any negative consequences that occur. I sensed a bit of pessimism in your post when you described the community; while although your words had much truth, is not how I view the community. I love the community despite all of its flaws, and I accept that many people that play a 5v5 team game will be narcissistic at times, when they feel they are not being treated with enough respect.

At OP: The main way to get in is to message an admin and get people to support your claim. You could try to send them VoDs of your play against other vouched players in scrims, but its doubtful they'll consider it since it takes so long. The main thing they will look at is the opponents you played against. Try to avoid talking about how much you played each hero or other DotA one stuff, the vouchers won't really care about it and now in DotA 2 you can just check their heroes for it. Just try to sell yourself and express how you can easily hold your own in the league and not feed.

I don't take public matchmaking as seriously as you obviously do because it is to serve two main purposes: create enjoyment for 10 people and so 10 people can better their knowledge in the video game Dota 2. Nothing terrible occurs when you lose a game of Dota 2, grow up.

But that is besides the point, I would never grief a game that hasn't even begun yet. If you believe I am lying please tell me the match ID where I grieved my teammates within 2 minutes of the game so I can make sure I am not crazy. I greatly dislike people who spew venomous, false argumentum ad hominems with the sole intent of soiling another's name, ergo I would appreciate it if immature, malicious trolls would stay out of this thread.
