    Donating items

I'm not sure how donating items currently works,

I think the best return for the person that donates items would be wongs.

Just like any store that buys and sells video games you get some money to spend.

Wongs is the currency, so if you donate a courier that's worth 200 wongs you should get 150~~+ wongs back, so that person can keep the economy going.

This is currently how it works, but 10% return (not 75%): http://nadota.com/showthread.php?102...tems-for-Wongs

Well can you buy wongs? If there is no way to buy wongs and wongs the only way for the market to work what is the plan to get people wongs in order for the store to be relevant? Only getting 10% is not going to allow that person to buy other items.

Gold membership is the only way to get wongs currently correct? Is this the plan?

I'm going to sound like an asshole here, but just don't worry about it. I've been talking to too many people about this and I'm tired of it. Creating a balanced economy from scratch is a huge task, and I now understand why Valve hires people with masters degrees in economics.

    Current ways to get wongs:
    -donating items
    -secs
    -mafia
-helping me with various site tasks
-participating in random activities, such as the countdown last week

    Coming soon:
    -wongs for gold members
-other forms of wong distribution that I come up with

You cannot and will never be able to buy wongs with $USD or any real-world currency.

Not an asshole. Thanks for the information. Was never really "worried", but just thought I'd give a suggestion. Looks like you have been discussing it a lot with people though. Excited to see what is coming.

So it's more a participate in the community in order to get items from the community rather than people just buying wongs in order to buy items. That sounds great. Even though being gold costs money, so in a way you could be "buying" wongs.

edit: If it pisses you off talking about it more just don't respond. It's not that big of a deal.

The shop is only a means of jump starting the trading economy. The goal is to make wongs a useful form of trade currency. The shop is just there to set initial prices and offer a place to buy items for those who might be willing to pay extra to avoid the hassle of finding a trade.

I do not care about the shop - I would be fine if it died in a few months, as long as trading is going well. The goal is not to sell wongs/items for $, but we need extra features for gold members as well as fair ways to inject wongs into the economy, and this helps with both.

That makes more sense. I thought the shop would be the focal point of having wongs, but that wouldn't work that well because it would be dependent on people actually donating items.

Using the trade forum as an auction house instead of you owning a buy/sell shop (where you would have to give them 75%~ etc.) creates less work that you have to do and promotes more interaction in the community.

    Nice work.
