LFP - Mid/Carry for MS/HS USE Team
Howdy folks, We are currently looking for one more player to round out our DotA2 team. We are currently in need of a talented carry/mid player capable of working with our current team composition.
About us: Three of us are former HoN players who played the game at a relatively high level (1850-1950 MMR) for the past two years. Recently we decided to switch over to DotA2 in search of a better competitive atmosphere for aspiring teams. Each of us has done pretty well up to this point (we're all in the "very high" skill bracket, but it's fair to say that most players in this tier really aren't "very highly" skilled) and we feel that we're ready to take the next step in DotA2 (scrimming/smaller tournaments). While we've faced some growing pains in regards to a new engine and unfamiliar heroes, we're progressing rapidly. Our fourth and only non-hon player is a very good support player that we've found through tryouts.
What we expect from you: As previously stated we're looking for only one type of player, someone who is most comfortable either as a carry or mid. Besides the obvious fact that you need to understand your role and all heroes associated with it you should have at least 54% win rate. In any post please include previous competitive experience, experience in the DotA genre of games, your preferred role, a link to your stats page and a link to your steam community profile. If we're interested in what you have to offer we'll get in contact with you regarding tryouts. Please also have vent and a working microphone.
Thanks for your time,
Malcamentry

I can play with you guys and see what's up if you're interested. Stats are pretty off cause I play with RL friends but I have been pretty much only playing mid lately.

That's fine, for the most part I just wanted to get a feel for the type of player you are and get an idea of what games to watch via a stat page (it also helps to see standard gpm numbers in this scenario). In that case I'll probably just delve into a replay or two and watch how you do (I tend to do this for everyone, but if somebody seems decent enough via stats I do get lazy and skip the replay part.)
To everyone who replied to this thread - I'll be looking through things when I get home from practice today (I'm a foobaw coach) and send out friend requests accordingly

This is a serious question and not meant offensively, but if you guys have no scrim experience in Dota 2 yet how is this anywhere in the realm of a high skilled team?

It's a perfectly fair question, so far we've scrimmed a few different teams that claim "mid-high" tier (I consider us to be currently a mid to mid/high team currently - although certainly not high - a 7/8 team if you want to scale it on the 1-10 scale) and have done pretty well in that time. While they might be misrepresenting themselves I think that our experience and previous success in the DotA genre of games allows us to be classified as a mid/high team as opposed to a team that is simply mid tier but not yet at the high skill level.
In other words, I didn't mean to word it as "high skilled" (9/10) but rather as "high/mid" (7/8). Hope that clarifies things.Last edited by Malcamentry; August 14th, 2012 at 07:55 PM. Reason: Grammar

What number is POTM?
I don't understand your scale. Is pro teams not even counted on the scale?
