However, once in a blue moon you'll have a GREAT experience with them. That's because you got a leftover Continental crew (Continental was great).

southwest is also fantastic, all things considered.

AA and UA are going through hard times because on the lower level you got southwest and on the higher levels of national you got stuff like jetblu, alaska, virgin, and delta.

as for international, UA can't compete either since delta has the europe routes pretty much covered and the asian airlines like china air, asiana, and korean air pretty much have that area on lockdown with the heavy incentives they provide agents to sell their brand.

also legato, i don't think something like this should speak for the entire company. Working in several industries like this and how things travel up the chain, it's easy to understand how something like this can happen:

worker A never gets assignment to pick up the kid because worker B did not properly fill out the work order or some other mix up occurred.

worker A is then asked by task manager where the kid is when parents come to inquire.

A big shit storm ensues on who is going to take the blame.

The manager steps in and delays passing it up the chain mainly because they know their ass is going to get fried unless they think of a clever way to spin it around to make it seem like they are not libel so yea, they end up hiding in the cluster fuck and hope that the parents eventually get frustrated with chasing around trying to find someone to take responsibility that they eventually give up and walk away with their kid in hand because they know how much trouble it is going to be and work they are putting on themselves. I mean, it works 99% of the time because people are usually lazy + have their own things they would rather do except for that 1% that isn't willing to let go and is willing to make their lives a little bit more difficult to make everyone else's even more difficult.
