The downtime earlier today

The prolonged downtime earlier today was due to multiple factors. We're setup in a way where that shouldn't happen, so I apologize.

I was sleeping.
I got a new phone literally an hour before I went to sleep.
My new phone did not have my normal notifications setup yet.
Site went down.
I woke up after a 12-hour slumber (to thousands of messages on skype, steam, aim, text, etc - thanks guys).
The site did not come back up with a simple reboot (which fixes it 99% of the time).
After some troubleshooting, I determined that we just needed to upgrade the server.
Upgraded server, rebooted, site back up.

It's hard for me to estimate the amount of traffic we'll receive in the next week during TI2, and quite frankly we aren't rich enough to afford upgrading prematurely, but I will keep a close watch and should be able to get the site back up within minutes if it does go down again.


I know you mean well, but I really don't need you guys to let me know that the site is down. Not only do I have notifications setup, but I am literally on the site all day, and I usually don't sleep.
