Dotacast Tournament!

After a long hiatus DotaCast is back on track, with casts coming at you like El Nino. With our grand (re)entrance into the casting world, we have decided to host a tournament.

DotaCast is proud to present, the DotaCast open, or DCO for short
The prize pool is 500$
There is no entry fee, and any teams within South America / North America are welcome to signup!
The prize structure is as follows
First place: $350
Second place: $150
When the tournament is over, the payments will be made accordingly.
Rosters will be of 5 starting players, and 3 bench players
Please make your signup look like this:
Starters: 1)x 2)x 3)x 4)x 5)x
Bench: 1)x 2)x 3)x
If a good amount of teams signup, we can try and make this a monthly thing, with a larger prize pool possibly.
We envision this to be the first of a series of tournaments, so participation is welcome! The more teams that sign up and participate, the better chance we will have of increasing the prize pool for future editions, and making it a tournament for teams around the globe rather than just the Americas.

depending on the success of the tournament we can offer more money / a larger prize pool. were doing this to try and help out dota so feel free to signup!
and 150 may not seem like a lot to second place, but that can pay for ur hostbot for a few months or smth ;]. and if you continue to do well, you can save the money etc! or buy weird porn.

Let me make a few clarifications:

1) For a team to be considered from within North or South America, four of the players in every match played must be from within the Americas. You can have the rest be from anywhere, as long as your lineup for any given match includes at least 4 players from NA/SA.

2) We're waiting to see how many teams will sign up before we finalize the tournament format, but right now we are thinking it will be bracket style, double elimination. That means there will be a winner and loser bracket. If a lot of teams end up signing up for the tournament, we may hold separate qualifiers for NA and for SA to avoid tons of hosting/lag issues.

3) The tournament will potentially take place within one or two weeks. The play times will mostly be up to the teams to arrange within the play dates, but they will have to be within a broad time window so that we can cast them (which is our goal). Since we are hoping for this to be the first tournament of a series, if teams stick together for the next editions they will be seeded according to how well they did in the previous tournaments (and even if they did not do well, they will be seeded above teams that did not participate in the previous editions).

4) Registration will be via e-mail, at dotacast.com@gmail.com. Include your roster, MIRC qauths, and contact information for the team leader. Everyone is encouraged to participate - that includes you too, Grant.

5) We will come up with a complete rule set shortly. Don't expect item or hero restrictions other than those already in the current map. What really has to be completely determined is the rules about disconnects and remakes.

6) Finally, it is our intention to help out teams with host issues by providing our own hostbot, which so far has been consistently good for anyone within North or South America, so hopefully that will take care of any such problems.
