As hard-line as Sessions can be, he's worked with Democrats before: “Say what you will about him,” former longtime Senate Democratic communications aide Jim Manley told the Almanac of American Politics. “He was always nice to [the late Ted] Kennedy and other Democrats as well.”
Even people who have run against him have nice things to say about him. Stanley-Becker talked to Susan Parker, a Democrat who tried to unseat Sessions in 2002. During a debate, she asked for a tissue and Sessions handed her one. She joked she would use it to dry her eyes when Sessions made her cry, and he responded: “Please don’t say that. That’s my nightmare. I promise I’ll be nice.”
at least hes nice!

bcuz a law and order AG that
1. wants draconian punishments for illegal immigrants over innocuous shit and holds a far right stance on the whole issue
2. takes a ridiculously conservative, even for a republican, position on marijuana and drug legalization
3. has a judicial history of attacking civil rights activists over "voter fraud" (aka made up bullshit that has a marginal impact at best, and is just an excuse to effectively disenfranchise minority, particularly black, communities)
4. is pretty anti lgbt by all measures, based on his personal views
I don't expect a republican AG, esp under trump, to be anything but regressive when it comes to shite like federal top down pressure on states over garbage like voter fraud allegations and NC bathroom bill
but sesions is emblematic of all the stupid shit the criminal justice system has done and perpetuated over the past few decades. if you think the blanket law and order approach to criminal prosecution is misguided, or at least has been majorly flawed over recent history, then Idk why you would like sessions.
this is why confirmation hearings are fyucking stupid. why do any of u fucking care about how personable this guy is during a grilling session he was prepped for repeatedly? you will never interact with this person irl. Lawl.

also, what kind of fuck makes jokes about respecting the KKK to a black prosecutor dealing with the michael donald lynching case?
how is that not fuckin disturbing? lmfao. would any of u say that shit to a black person irl if you were in such a context, barring you knowing them extraordinarily well/intimately? you would get hit in the fuckin teeth I bet, and for good reason.
now let's take into consideration that sessions was speaking from a position of authority in a state like fucking alabama?

Tillerson, for his part, told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Wednesday that he’d talked to Trump “in a broad construct, and in terms of the principles that are going to guide” US foreign policy.
But when Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) asked if the two men had discussed Russia, Tillerson said, “That has not occurred yet.”

As m8stro's antithesis, I find the entirety of the Buzzfeed Dossier to be entirely cogent.
It's readily clear Putin's aim is to demolish the only obstacle capable of defying and rebuffing his expansionist neu-warsaw pact agenda. It was Putin who selected Manafort to head up the Trump campaign and Putin who has selected all of Trump's cabinet appointees.
It's kind of sad really, Trump was too easy a prey for a career KGB man like Putin. Vlad is an extremely methodical psychoanalyst; he knows exactly how to identify a person's weaknesses and exploit them having developed these skills over decades of counter-espionage operations wringing confessions out of double agents and even turning what were thought to be unbreakable Mi6/Agency assets.
He's the closest thing there is to an IRL boss.
A classic narcissist like Trump never stood a chance when he can be lured into compromising situations with simple appeals like flattery.
