    Ashes of Creation

stumbled upon this and it really impressed me. any hot takes? youtube has results for first impressions and stuff but I was truly so amazed that it just felt right to leave this here before fiending.

tl;dw - go watch. game has a "node" system where experience gained in an area also upgrades that area and progression means it becomes (more) civilized. the civilization level will change/establish NPC (mobs incluided it seems) behavior and even trigger events - which in turn makes it so each server plays out a different and unique story line created by its players. they're also forcing player engagement by tying the marketplace to nodes/areas over going for an auction house model. another feature that follows the same direction is PVP where you protect your turf from (player?) raids just because that's where you chill and not due to the fact that you're tied to an alliance or something of sorts.

Hey Korok I'm trying to learn to play clockwerk. I just have a question about the skill build. Should I max Battery assault, like you committed battery and assaulted your girlfriend, Hook shot so I can punch my girlfriend's lights out, or rocket flare like the police fired in their pursuit and arrest of you.

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked.

As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world.

Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay.
