    I think it's pretty cool if they have in-depth data and plan to make little tweaks frequently (like this week it's .1s longer, next week it's .1s shorter) and learn some valuable info from the data

    but it's also possible they're doing it so people like you can make outraged posts on websites like nadota.com

    a lot of the changes make sense.

    fraerie fire was rarely bought.
    force staff was generally considered a really strong item for its cost.

    the tier 1 armor buff is probably a small attempt to reduce the amount of roaming on midlane.

    and i think most people will be happy about games starting almost a minute sooner.

    the mango buff is pretty stupid though especially with the bonus mango thing and meteor hammer is too strong now. i think meteor was already decent on a lot of heroes last patch but people were stupid about how to use it.

    Nah bro. These super uptime super effective saves coupled with infinite status resist cores needs to be dialed back a bit

    Like I said, hots does this inbetween major changes and it's pretty great. Helps to rebalance 60+% winrate heroes instead of settling to put it somewhere down the pipeline and end up over tuning the nerf

    why does it matter that people arent buying faerie fire is my question, not whether or not the item could have used a change.

    i just disagree with the idea of making changes unless they are addressing some specific issue. if people arent buying your new item (faerie fire), too bad, its because its too similar to wand/tangoes but the developers had this idea one day at a lunch meeting and will stop at nothing to ensure that faerie fires are part of the game, even if it means buffing the item repeatedly (mango, faerie fire, meteorhammer) and potentially changing the game in a big way.

    if you add an item to the game and it does not address a specific issue (faerie fire is a perfect example of this), people will not use it.

    you will have to make it so much better than other items, that this newfound value creates a new problem (that if i don't buy this item, i am now at a disadvantage)

    part of the reason they buffed clarities is because mangoes were so much better. now all my games have dipshits ferrying clarities to themselves all game because pro scene playrs are going to great lengths to avoid walking back to base this and last patch and this often involves sitting around doing nothing waiting for a shrine or the courier losing 5 pounds over the course of the game bringing players something they could have purchased before they left home.

    im not saying faerie fires are necessarily a good item to have in the game. im just saying its not random why theyre buffing it.
