    everything that i have thought about politics since i was 11 years old has been affirmed by this

    old people are too fucking stupid and set in their ways to understand new concepts and the average age of congress is a good marker to see how terrible our country is at any given time

    Young people don't understand technology either, they just use it.

    “Her antiquity in preceding and surviving succeeding tellurian generations: her nocturnal predominance: her satellitic dependence: her luminary reflection: her constancy under all her phases, rising and setting by her appointed times, waxing and waning: the forced invariability of her aspect"

    Which would you guys say is more concerning:

    1. Some weird dude named "Zucc the Cuck" sharing your private Facebook data with a formidable conservative think tank (Cambridge Analytica);

    OR

    2. Some weird dude named "A Light Soul" sharing your private Facebook data with a formidable conservative think tank (Dendi via discord)?

    Let's talk about the real issues here:

    1/ These old people talking about these "issues important to them" are horribly unqualified to talk on or legislate on these issues

    if you have a facebook, use snapchat, have a twitter, dont use end to end encrypted messaging, and don't exclusively browse the internet through tor, you're part of the problem and have no leg to stand on

    2/ Many, many parties, including the US Gov't, were and are still actively involved in mass collection of data, often without the users' knowledge or consent, and attempts to manipulate public opinion via facebook and/or other social media, often with the use of that data, and often in ways the targets of this manipulation (facebook's users, the general public, people who read stuff on the internet) would be uncomfortable with.

    Cambridge Analytica was just the first one to get caught.
