fuck local shop , holy christ shit so expensive
they are trying to sell me a 1.5k system for a 2.5k
anyone in Quebec/Montreal area got a decent shop that isnt trying to rip me off , i dont feel like ordering online and dealing with broken parts ( dead pixels etc .... )
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9vEC ( thats basically what im looking for )
edit : the shop is so shitty they sent me an email and it went directly in my junk box enough said
apparently phantom case arent compatible with the cooler so i will either mod it or change to a corsair c70Last edited by ho0k; June 5th, 2012 at 02:36 PM.

1.) You think they're gonna sell you shit at face value? They need to turn a profit. Take in needing to make a profit, charging for the labor of assembling it, make sure you add in the price for the copy of Windows, then add in more cost because of the fucktards who screw up their computers and then come back expecting them to fix it because they bought it from them, and that price doesn't sound so ridiculous anymore.
2.) If you "don't feel like ordering online" then go pay the markup. What the fuck are you talking about broken parts? You think that stuff you buy from a physical location magically appeared there without ever being shipped? I'll trust a component from Newegg over a part from a local retailer every day of the week.
3.) Nice build.
4.) You could always just drill the holes, or slightly mod the case. Use the 230/200mm side vent for the H70's radiator.NADota playpen members: Milkshake, NengLM, ironstove, Kanadian, MrSoada, xCom, qweasdzxcdot, insomHonestly, nadota has been overrun, or grown, or whatever you want to call it so it's no longer a little club, but a big fucking commercial/public site. they were charging me 90.00$ just for assembling it , which is ridiculous.
they even changed some part cause they couldnt get the one i wanted and they put cheaper stuff in the build instead of sticking with what i asked.
the other dealer i went to is charging me way less , he also told me that my system would be more stable if i put DDR3 1600 instead of 2133, confirm/deny. The guy seemed pretty legit , the only part he couldnt get was the g.skill ram and he was offering me kingston hyperX for the same price is that ok? he was also recommending me a gigabyte gpu instead of the zotac one.
edit : oh well shit is in the mail wish me luck and hope everything is ok when it get here.Last edited by ho0k; June 6th, 2012 at 03:44 PM.

90 bucks for assembling an entire computer seems cheap for a business... incredibly cheap.
Switching stuff out without getting the ok is dumb.
The lower clock speed on the memory isn't going to make your system "more stable." He's just saying that because he wants to sell you the stuff he has, which is the slower clock speed. However, the clock speed on your memory really isn't going to matter. You won't see a difference.
Brand preference in memory is largely just personal bias. I prefer G.Skill. If someone else prefers something else, I don't really have any reason to disagree with them.
I like the look of the G.Skill Sniper series memory better. It also looks to me like it has better heat spreaders. It's also rated at a MUCH lower voltage, and has the higher clock speed.... so if I were in the position, I'd say that's what I want. But hey, to each his own.
The Gigabyte 670 is a better card than the Zotac one. It has a better cooler on it and is OC'd from the manufacturer. The only downside is size, as it's slightly larger. But I'd say if he has the Gigabyte card, grab it. The only reason I recommended the Zotac one to the other poster was because it was in stock on Newegg at the time.NADota playpen members: Milkshake, NengLM, ironstove, Kanadian, MrSoada, xCom, qweasdzxcdot, insomHonestly, nadota has been overrun, or grown, or whatever you want to call it so it's no longer a little club, but a big fucking commercial/public site. The one without built in speakers. If you can afford it though, should go for IPS. Best decision you'll ever make.
These are fantastic in case you don't know about them

Wildly popular atm across all tech boards. Korean IPS panels that use the same panels as Dell Ultrasharp/Apple cinema displays.
Dota 2 at 2560x1440 res will blow your mind.

I have a $200 giftcard from returning my Zune under the hardware warranty, should I pull the trigger on this or what? Free shipping + $310 price tag is pretty dope.

Sure why not.
My personal mindset is save up for the best. If I'm spending on an above-average monitor, I'm going 30" ultrasharp. However, the 24" ones are looking like great deals right now.
You can also get some foreign displays on ebay for a really good price, but obviously you can't use your BBY gift card on those.NADota playpen members: Milkshake, NengLM, ironstove, Kanadian, MrSoada, xCom, qweasdzxcdot, insomHonestly, nadota has been overrun, or grown, or whatever you want to call it so it's no longer a little club, but a big fucking commercial/public site.
