Feedback Thread!
I want your feedback on this past season. The day of the tournament should be changing to Saturdays and you guys can agree on a time. I'll write a list of things some people were suggesting also and I'll post my solutions and you guys can see if they need work or if they are right.
Suggestions that some people had:
-Implementing GosuBets and betting (or winning) NADota points.
I'll have to start sign ups earlier so that there is a full bracket that people can work off of. You can also do it March Madness style for NADota points so you can silence someone.
-Ringers
Well, one solution I have is that all of you registering will have to use z33k and will have to register your Steam IDs. Either a developer or I will make a post on how to do things.
-What's the alternative to a prize pool?
One reason why I am pausing SECS for a bit is because I'm trying to see what tournament is being planned so that SECS can be used to seed those teams into their group stage or whatever. If you see one in the planning, please let me know. I want to get some of our teams in there!
Again, if there is anything you want addressed, please post here.CyberPower PC Community Manager

You don't have to wait until there is a prize or a European tournament, you could just run secs to run it like we did in the past, until a prize/seeding is available then we can do something then.

Re: Feedback Thread!
i dont got much to say regarding ur op but one thing that annoyed me was that i originally played on a different team each week (the spin with one first and one second) then dragon born (first) and by the time the playoffs come around neither of these teams exist and theres nothing to show for those previous results (however i was fortunate enough to be on a team that was already seeded for the playoffs)
if ur intent is for secs to be 'serious' then a play off encourages a more stable roster (as opposed to a prize each week), but if it's supposed to be casual then maybe there are alternatives

Re: Feedback Thread!
SECS was always better before prizes were put in.

Re: Feedback Thread!
I disagree; this most recent secs was about 100x more interesting than any previous incarnation.

Re: Feedback Thread!
it died during dota 1, but there were probably a lot of other factors as well.

Re: Feedback Thread!
I'd say reasons it was uninteresting in previous incarnations included but were not limited to:
1. little to no casting/when casting happened, it was last-minute, unadvertised, bad
2. no vested interest for participants to keep the same teams together from week to week, so there was no rooting interest for a person following the event (since there was a new shuffle of pugs every week instead of consistent team participation)
3. not enough drama, too much circle jerk group hug shit
All of these factors are somewhat mitigated by having a prize and more regulated tournament series format/structure.

Re: Feedback Thread!
it would be nice to implement a ranking system for teams based on win/losses in SECS kind of how like GG.net runs (on the website instead of on a thread). Since we do have a lot of teams switch up then what you can also do is that as long as the captain of the team didnt leave then the team stands.

Re: Feedback Thread!
?
thats exactly his point... the fact that he had the freedom to do that and get off unpunished when it came around playoff time is what he is criticizing

Re: Feedback Thread!
how's having a stable roster have anything to do with a 'fuck off im not even playing' ? if a team doesn't play one week does that effect the stability of there roster? probably not.
