1. I said I hadn't touched aesthetics yet.
2. Your link does not contain any skins. Those just use the default layout with a couple colors changed - they are much, much uglier than the default.
3. Every free AND premium skin that exists for vBulletin (and phpBB for that matter) is disgusting. I am appalled at the skins people think are mildly presentable. Nobody who takes the time to make skins has any design sense whatsoever.
4. I'm probably just going to buy a skin that has a few elements I like and work from there. Pretty disappointed that there aren't any pre-made skins that are even remotely usable without hours of modification.

Best thing I've found so far (need forum skin + CMS skin):

$30 each is a lot considering they would still require a lot of work from me. The first thing I would do is remove the diagonal lines from all over (forum headers, profile fields, nav bar, change just about every icon, decrease the size of the thread dividers in forumdisplay.php, obviously change the background and banner, hopefully make the right sidebar look better.

I would offer to create a custom skin, but you guys would have to live with this one for about a month. Of course once I finish I would be able to sell it for $50 to just about every vB admin so I could quit nadota all together and retire at 21.

Seriously. I don't think you guys understand how gross the skinning market is right now.

Forum software without a single decent free skin: phpBB, vBulletin, IPB, SMF. (I haven't actually explored SMF, but they always look terrible)
CMS software without a single decent free skin: WordPress, Drupal, Joomla... and everything else.
IPB and Joomla are the only ones with decent paid skins, too.

the default one is okay one you get used to it. Just fyi, making a skin can be very frustrating, especially once it reaches conflicts with other browsers. give spit a break, all he have been doing is hard work.

Besides this skin looks like the last one we had, that's the way I see it.

This one looks a lot better than the last one we had imo, and the forum setup is much more elaborate too. The darker one in spit's post looks the best out of anything I've seen so far. Would be nice to get more opinions if people even care that much
