I'm level 8 and thoroughly disappointed. It's way too easy, and I don't just mean that I couldn't die if I tried. There are no choices to be made. You level up and you select the only skill you have available to you. I really miss the tech trees and stat point allocations. This is just boring. I foresee very little replay value since it would just be the exact same game. Even if you switch characters... you've already played with other people using that character, and you know it will be exactly the same since you don't have any choices. No player is "good" or "bad", because the game progression is predetermined and the only choice you have is choosing between a 40 armor shield and a 30 armor shield, which is obviously not a real choice.
I hope this gets better further into the game.

I've been told the rune system gives you customization, I'm only level 7 though so haven't seen it yet.

yeah i think theres a lot more customization/choice in terms of what kind of role you get to play, ie. battle vs support/tank monk etc (mind you, i havent read all of these skills and whatnot)
also, i didn't feel like i had much choice in diablo 2 with the skill trees. i mean, you were free to go whatever you liked, and that was nice for the casual player that just played the game to play it, but it was a lot more restricting when you started seeing people pull out skill/stat calculators and tell you that what you were doing was shit
jing: first time i saw my girl
jing: i mumbled for like an hour
jing: i couldn't even keep eye contact
jing: and she was like "can you speak up"
jing: and then i just fucking left
jing: i tried eating the girl out but i had no idea what i was doing
jing: i felt like she faked moans or w/e
jing: cause i had 0 idea of how to eat a girl out
jing: i flicked it with my tongue
jing: but eventually it got kind of repetitive and i had no idea what to do next
jing: what a fucking horrible story

Pretty fun, server issues are annoying, combat is satisfying, maybe a tad outdated and overpriced for what it is but eh.
Also yea Normal is pretty easy, gotta wait till you get to the harder parts.

the first few hours are suppose to be tutorial to battle system, so its supposed to be "so easy that you can only die if you try" (as it is supposed to be forgiving to teach).....
but either way normal is easy.. because its normal.. its just suppose to orient you to the skills, and make you have fun with the story.. while i am disappointed in that i kinda feel it is too easy as well (especially when you start to get big items and can like 1 shot things in single player), you know its going to get harder and better and to just enjoy the story and environments.
also, your second point about choices is bad as well, you get to choose how you want to build your character skill wise, then you can build items to tune around that. for example, on a wizard, you could go crit, get the passive which gives you more arcane power or something if you crit, then you can go skills which do well with crit such as arcane orb or even something like magic missle, and then you can itemize for crit.
or you can go something like a disintegrate build where you need alot of arcane power, and raw damage, so instead of looking for items with crits you look for items with +arcane power and focus on +dmg and int. and then you go runes and skills like diamond skin where if active can -arcane power costs, then you do diamond skin into disintegrate
while they took out the tree system, they didnt take out "hard decisions". thats why you have so few skill slots, so you have to make sure every skill you choose is important to you.signature removed
