Terran playing friends
So I recently started playing and following SC2 again and I feel totally out of touch with the metagame. Some of my games feel like build order losses (though I'm certainly not playing perfectly so it could just be me being awful) and I'm wondering if maybe I should have a different approach to the match-ups. Most of my games I've just been going 1rax no gas expand into a 3 rax + medivacs timing attack. Sometimes against Zerg I 1 rax expand into hellion/thor/sometimes viking. I lose to 4gates a lot and ling/baneling bust/all-ins occasionally. So any tips would be really helpful.
I'm mostly curious if there is a go-to opening that you have found is fairly reliable (for a particular match-up). I'm also trying to get back up to snuff mechanically and then grind out a bunch of fast wins to get back to Masters, since playing 30 minute macro games isn't exactly an efficient way of accumulating MMR.
Oh I also am curious what maps Terrans have vetoed. Right now I'm tding Metalopolis and that's it.

TvZ
1-reactor hellion FE into 3 rax 1 fact 1 star, then push out with stim + seige mode and medivacs while getting 3rd, I see polt do it a lot
2-1 rax fe into 3 rax or fast 3 oc
3-CC first
TvP
-1 rax fe into 5 rax heavy marine pressure
-1 rax FE into 3 rax standard etc
-1 rax FE into 2-2-2 BFH + cloak banshee + thor + marines with shield
TvT
1- 1-1-1 reactor hellion + reactor marine + cloacked banshee + scvs at times
2- 1 rax FE into 3 rax marine marauder, push with medivac
3- 1 rax FE into double gas and then go mech
The builds are in order of my favourite/ones i have most success with to least. I have Metalopolis, Tal Darim Altar, and Ohana vetoed you can swap ohana for korhal if you want but I think Meta and TDA are a must

Thanks guys. Out of curiosity, why TDA?

I dont like TDA because its too big and I find its hard to secure your 4th+ bases on it. I just dont like the design. If you spawn top left and they spawn top right and they start sieging your natural with siege tanks or colossus, its really hard to defend.

That makes sense. I like TDA because I can go blind CC first and be okay most of the time LOL but I've definitely had some trouble with Colossus on it.

If you're not masters yet it's not too late to switch races.

I can give you some tips but what league are you in?

I played Zerg in the beta and I've thought about switching back.
Well, I *was* Diamond (before there was Masters). Haven't played since Season 1. So I got placed into Gold (LOL) but moved up to Platinum in one day. My MMR is prolly ass now 'cause I've been improvising pretty much every game and my record slumped back to ~.500, but I was straddling Plat/Diamond (at least based on what leagues my opponents were in). Definitely still have some rust to shake off before I get back to being (relatively) as good as I was before, though.
I assume you're asking that because you want to know if I can handle the multitasking etc. that your tips might entail, and the answer is "yes, but I'd have to practice it a lot," which I'm planning on doing.
