You mean a slow sport where play stops after 4-6 seconds and we wait 20+ seconds to see more action?

I don't like American football either but nice try. At least things happen. Also I already know that people watch football so they can sit around and talk about it with their friends. No one just watches football.

So name me a sport that isn't "slow" by your definition?

I mean I guess you must enjoy watching people just run 100m dashes and that's it, right?

    Namely Aussie rules or basketball.

Part of the problem that I have with soccer is theres no progression -- people rarely score.

It's mostly something to talk about with your buddies while you sit around and drink beer. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad thing, in fact its the same thing as American football or baseball. My point is that people shouldn't go around bashing Americans for not liking it, because people enjoy both footballs for the same reasons.

    i beg to differ
i watch soccer as a fan of the game and appreciate most aspects of the game, including the highly non-linear buildup phase which is probably the part that most people who haven't played the game at an appreciable level don't understand. The comparison with dota's pretty strong here: I'm guessing a lot of people who've only played pubs probably just tune out during down times at the 35 minute mark or whatever when both teams are preparing for the next team fight.

If you don't appreciate soccer, fine, that's up to you.

It's not objectively slower or less interesting though. You're just not interested by the things going on.

Honestly, nadota has been overrun, or grown, or whatever you want to call it so it's no longer a little club, but a big fucking commercial/public site. Go 100% with it. Make money off ads/wongs/a store. Put streams up. Do your own content. Stop trying to hold on to the notion that we can keep the close knit club we have historically been, because it's gone at this point (and I think you know it too spit)

Home teams are always scarey. I was pulling for Austria in 2008 and they overachieved, almost had some magic. But apparently scoring goals is important.

Anyone want to guess the score for tomorrow? Maybe some bets involving wongs/dota 2 items?

    For me it looks like:
    Pol-Gre 2-0
    Rus-Cze 2-1

    Pol-Gre 1-1
    Rus-Cze 3-1

Russia's national team is somewhat perplexing but they outmatch most teams in this group and as such should have an easy path.

+1 We greeks have a strong defence poland is a mid/low team but they have a nice attacker Lewandowski so probably match will go 0-0 or 1-1 russia will win like np cze have almost the same players since euro 2004.I think Spain and Germany are the best teams in this euro but i cheer for NETHERLANDS go Van Persie Robben and Snider!

Yea well im sorry to be biased as shit cuz im polish but: Lewandowski isnt the only thing about Poland, dont forget the whole Dortmund trio that tbh carried the team to 1st place, with Piszczek being already set up to Real Madrid. Blaszczykowski being the spine of the team. Szczesny, young goalkeeper from Arsenal, one of the greatest talents in the world. Many others also like Obraniak who had a great season in Girondins.

The only thing about the game is, will Poland go through the great defense Greece has? As a Pole I have great faith in that.

Great game by Greece even if we had a bad referee (no penalty in the first part and a red card that only god could make that a red card) we managed to take the tie against Poland even with 10 players in the most part of the match and a lost penalty.

    Game was nice for Greece
